GLP-1 Dosage Schedule Calculator

Every FDA-approved GLP-1 weight-loss drug follows a low-and-slow titration schedule to minimize gastrointestinal side effects (nausea, reflux, constipation). This reference shows the week-by-week dose from the product prescribing information for semaglutide (Wegovy), tirzepatide (Zepbound / Mounjaro), and liraglutide (Saxenda). It is educational only — any real dosing plan should be coordinated with your prescribing clinician.

Quick Answer

Wegovy titrates every 4 weeks from 0.25 mg to the 2.4 mg maintenance dose over 16 weeks. Zepbound / Mounjaro titrates from 2.5 mg up to 15 mg over 20 weeks. Saxenda titrates daily from 0.6 mg to 3.0 mg over 5 weeks.

These results are estimates based on general formulas and are not a substitute for professional medical advice. Consult a healthcare provider before making health decisions.

Cap the schedule at an intermediate maintenance dose if your clinician has chosen one.

How the Formula Works

  1. Pick the drug (semaglutide, tirzepatide, or liraglutide).

    Drug selection
  2. Return the FDA-label schedule with dose labels and timing per step.

Schedule per drug from prescribing information
  3. Optionally filter to a user-specified target dose if lower than the label maximum.

Filter steps where dose <= targetDose

Methodology & Sources

Schedules are transcribed from the current US prescribing information for each drug as of Q1 2026. Route of administration and handling instructions come from the same PI documents.

Limitations

  • This is not dosing advice. Exact timing and dose selection is between you and your prescribing clinician.
  • Compounded versions may not follow the same titration schedule — always defer to the compounding pharmacy's instructions.
  • The tool does not cover type 2 diabetes dosing (Ozempic / Mounjaro), which differs from the obesity-indication dose schedules shown.
  • Side-effect management is highly individual — many patients do better with slower titration than the label schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I cannot tolerate a step?
The product labels explicitly allow holding at the prior dose or delaying escalation. Your prescriber can slow titration without losing most of the long-term efficacy.
Do all patients need to reach the maximum dose?
No. Both Wegovy and Zepbound have maintenance-eligible intermediate doses. Many patients get excellent results on 1.7 mg semaglutide or 10 mg tirzepatide if the higher dose causes problems.
How do I handle a missed dose?
For weekly semaglutide and tirzepatide: if you miss a dose and your next scheduled dose is more than 2 days away, take the missed dose as soon as possible. If less than 2 days away, skip and resume on schedule. For daily liraglutide: skip the missed dose and resume with the next scheduled dose.
What side effects should I expect?
Nausea (roughly 40–50% in trials), constipation, reflux, and occasional vomiting are the most common. Most resolve within 1–2 weeks at each dose step. Pancreatitis, gallbladder issues, and rare thyroid concerns are in the label — discuss your personal and family history with your prescriber.
